Smith Madisha commenced operation in 2011 after seeing a gap in the market due to their many years of involvement in the Building Construction Industry regarding problems, issues and stumbling blocks that influence the completion on time as well as the required quality of various types of projects. These problems could  generally be ascribed to accepted rules and practices not being followed as well as the lack of experienced and trained staff and is applicable to both existing and emerging Consultants and Contractors.

Whilst the industry contains University or Technikon qualified people basic, intermediate management and supervisory skills are lacking which has a negative effect on the running of successful projects or companies and result in catastrophic effects in a lot of cases. Clients and Councils are placed in the unenviable position of having projects not completed on time or not at all as the budget are exhausted because of incompetent management. This can cause serious embarrassment particularly in this day and age with service delivery issues.

We have structured our company accordingly to render the required services to the various sectors involved in projects.

Jan S Smith

With a National Higher Diploma in Building Science to his name, Jannie started his career with Basil Read and worked his way up through the various management levels of Basil Read, subsequently moving to Concor as director of Concor Building in  2008. In his various careers within the construction industry he has worked for a number of major clients including Rand Merchant Bank Properties, Investec, and the Mines Pension Fund.

He then started his own company and successfully completed various large projects. His company merged with C-PRO CONSTRUCTION and he was a partner of this entity before starting Smith Madisha along with Alice Madisha in 2011.

Jannie has an enviable reputation for delivering prestigious projects for major clients on time, within budget and to the right quality far exceeding the Client and Professional teams expectations.

 

Ramakone Alice Madisha

Alice is a graduate of the University of Johannesburg with a National Diploma in Quantity Surveying (from 2005 to 2007) and of Tshwane University of Technology where she obtained a B-tech degree in Construction Management (2008) sponsored by the CETA bursary scheme. Alice has experience in tendering and obtaining work in the Construction industry.

Additionally, she has site management experience with particular reference to the various aspects on programming, information flow, measuring and managing construction work in the private sector on a number of high profile projects with Growthpoint properties to name just one.
